Summer isn’t the only thing that’s hot. Your vision system or laser assembly could be running hot too. Sapphire windows can take the heat better than your failing glass optics. Sapphire is useful up to 1800° while some glass optics lose their effectiveness just over 1000°.
Sapphire windows have a wide spectral range too. Our special UV grade sapphire can pass those rays of 190nm UV light at a 70% effectiveness rate. No coatings involved. The transmissivity quickly increases to 82% at 300nm and gradually plateaus at 87% from 500nm to 4500nm before it starts to tail off again.
